Mentor Club – Launching?

Making Moments Matter Monthly
(New Group Mentoring Option)

The national For The Children – Royal Family KIDS office has created a new program option. It’s a minimized version of Mentor Club.
– Group Mentoring without the individual mentoring component.
– Meet locally in town, once per month, during the school year (6-9 months) for about 2-3 hours.
– Guardians drop off and pick up the child each month.
– Monthly meetings will include: Ice Breakers, Music, Bible Stories, Puppet Script, Activities, Snacks, Connection Corners (TBRI “Nurture Groups”)
– Must have 1 adult volunteer for every 2 children at each monthly meeting.
– Unlike the typical Mentoring Club option, this new option does not assign an individual mentor to each child.
– This new option would be open to all foster children in our area (between 7 and 11), regardless of whether they’ve attended camp. (Our chapter would give priority to previous campers.)
– The number of children accepted would depend on the number of volunteers who commit, the space of the facility where we’d meet, and the amount of funds raised.
– The goal is to launch Mentor Club just after the beginning of the school year, if we have enough volunteers.

Needed:
– A Team of 3 Directors/Leaders
**** Must complete an online training course
**** Must attend (1) 2-hour zoom call

ALL volunteers who will serve at the monthly meetings must attend a local Volunteer Training (Returning Camp Volunteers: 3 hours; New Volunteers: 6 hours)

Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone will be welcome to apply. You do not need to have attended camp and do not need to be 18-years-old. All volunteers will be required to complete an online application, a background check, an in-person interview (this may be waived if you’ve served at Royal Family KIDS Camp in the past), and 3-6 hours of training.
