Specific donations of supplies for camper activities are welcome at all times. To easily give from home, visit our Amazon Wish List at: https://amzn.to/2qaT46p. New items are added to this list throughout the year. Items purchased from this list will automatically be delivered to us. Please call or text us at (971) 225-7352 to arrange drop off of any items items purchased locally.

Support us when you shop! If you shop at Grocery Outlet in Longview, WA or Fred Meyer/Kroger Stores, you can register your shopping accounts with Royal Family KIDS – Cowlitz County to send a portion of the proceeds to our ministry. Help us apply for grants and/or seek sponsors within the community by sharing potential donor letters with businesses and other professionals. In addition to general sponsorships, many of our fundraisers rely on donations of prizes, silent auction items, and refreshments, for example. Seasonal fundraisers take place throughout the year, including our Christmas Market (a sale of custom Christmas Cards), Bunco competitions, Superhero 5k Fun Run, and our Royal Tea Party Fundraiser & Silent Auction in spring. Apply for the camp registration and welcome home team (Monday, July 24, and/or Friday, July 28, 2023). These friendly and organized volunteers serve as the face of Royal Family KIDS Camp for our campers, as camp staff will be at the campground ahead of time. Registration and welcome home volunteers help set up registration on Sunday afternoon, July 23; welcome campers as they are dropped off by their caregivers and help get them on the bus on Monday morning, July 24; and welcome campers and camp staff home on Friday, July 28. 

*VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED JANUARY 1 – MARCH 15 each year. Background and reference checks will follow, along with an interview, to ensure that volunteers are able to serve in roles that best serve the children of our ministry. Applicants who apply to attend camp must be available for the entire duration of camp, and must attend the mandatory volunteer training, as listed on the application. 

MORE WAYS TO SERVE

Join Mentor Club, a new addition to our local ministry, in order to make on ongoing investment in the lives of our Royal Family KIDS. Many mentor club volunteer must have served at camp during the summer, but for anyone who is unable to attend camp, there are ways to serve within this new ministry. Click here for the launch status of this program and how to get involved.

Help with odds and ends throughout the year… Royal Family KIDS is always in need of volunteers to help plan or serve at fundraisers; attend work parties; promote our ministry throughout the community (including the Go Fourth! festival), write thank you cards and letters, assist with bookkeeping,  and other administrative duties, and develop communications/marketing materials. If you are interested in offering your time and talents to this ministry, please contact us and introduce yourself by sending an email to info@ForTheChildrenCowlitz.org.

Become a Royal Family KIDS spokesperson within your home church to help create a network of connected churches and support the growth of this ministry, transforming the lives of children in our local foster care system. As a Royal Family KIDS spokesperson, you will share promotional materials and updates with your church leadership and members and serve as a contact for our ministry, to open up more opportunities for prayer, giving, and serving. OTHER LOCAL MINISTRIES SERVING CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE

Fostering Love – A group of local churches, working together to support the children and families within the foster care system and each church’s foster care ministry. Please contact us if you are interested in joining us at our monthly meeting (1st Monday of each month at 5:30PM) as a representative of your church or for more information.  

Cowlitz County Child Advocates (formerly CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates)  is a powerful voice, advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Dependency Court system in our community.  

Fosterful an on-call volunteering opportunity for qualified individuals to sit with and entertain children in the Department of Children, Youth & Families Office, while their caseworkers make arrangements to find them a new placement home.      

Foster Parent Night Out – One evening each month during the school year, foster parents can enjoy a night of respite, knowing that their foster children are having a fun and safe time enjoying dinner, games and a bible story with this group of screened and trained volunteers.

Luggage of Love  –   was created to provide duffel bags and comfort items to foster and vulnerable children, in transition & emergency situations. Our comfort bags bring joy to children in SW Washington.
