Volunteers Needed!
Will you please pray for us? Our application deadline was originally Thursday, 3/31/22, but we have received less than half the volunteer applications needed to be able to hold camp. We will be extending the deadline but do need to make the call whether or not to move forward with camp soon. We invite you to prayerfully consider applying to serve with us at camp … and to ask the Lord to bring to mind others whom you know who may be a good fit for this ministry!
Calling volunteers to the mission field! Join us at our free, five-day sleepaway summer camp for children in our local foster care system from Sun, 7/24 through Fri, 7/29. For these children who have experienced abuse, abandonment and/or neglect, this week away is often the highlight of their entire year.
Whether you can serve at camp or in-town (for one day or for months beforehand), we can always find a way for you to use your gifts to bless these children.
If you have a connection with another church, civic group or business that would allow us to come share information about ways to serve or support our ministry, we’d love to connect! We appreciate your help in spreading the word to friends and family and your support and prayers on behalf of our volunteers, our programs, and our children from hard places.
Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good. Seek Justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of the orphans.

Whether you’re 15 or 95-years-old, there is a way for you to serve at camp!
At-camp roles include STILL NEEDED:
- Camp counselors
- Support Staff (help with crafts and activities, drama, field games, bible storytelling, chapel time, woodshop, beauty parlor, dress up, bike barn, photography, just be an extra chaperone, etc.)
- Grandma & Grandpa
- Aunt & Uncle
- State-licensed social worker, therapist or school counselor
- Nurse
- And more
Can’t serve at camp? We also need folks to:
- Help us spread the word about this opportunity to serve. Share our posts on our Facebook page. Invite us to share at your church, workplace or civic group.
- Volunteer at Training on Saturday, June 25 – We need folks to help us run the day of volunteer training. *** Help set up the night before and/or tear down the night of training. *** Help at various registration check in stations for a couple hours in the morning.
- Provide Training Space – Saturday, June 25 Training will be held from 8AM – 5PM (with setup starting the evening before and tear down complete by 7PM). We serve our volunteers breakfast and lunch, so a kitchen close by is necessary. Audio/video is needed in the meeting space, which would need to accommodate about 45 people at round tables.
- Loan Us Event Tent Canopies – We’re looking to borrow large event tent/canopies, since we’re holding all of our activities and meals at camp outside. One of the larger ones we’re looking for needs to cover at least 28′ x 36′.
- Make, shop for, or sponsor breakfast, lunch, snacks and/or drinks at Volunteer Training (Saturday, June 25), Camper Breakfast on Monday, July 25 or our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Friday, July 29.
We always appreciate your support and prayers on behalf of our volunteers, our programs, and our children from hard places. We wouldn’t be here without you! For The Children, Jess and The Leadership Team |
