
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOUR LEADERSHIP TEAM:
At our monthly leadership team meeting on May 28, we decided to prayerfully consider over the next few weeks the possibility of closing our chapter. We have received notice from a couple people over the last few weeks that they need to step down, due to different life circumstances. We just have so many big roles to fill, and while amazing people have stepped forward over the last year, we never filled all the needed roles to keep the chapter running year-round. Additionally, it has been increasingly difficult to fill all the needed volunteer roles at our holiday parties (both on the planning team and in terms of volunteers serving for the half-day events).
Will you please be in prayer for the leadership team for the Lord’s guidance? We’ll be making our decision at our monthly meeting on June 18.
For those wondering, below you can find the necessary roles that we have been advertising for several months (or for years, in some cases) that are currently unfilled (or from which we have folks who have given notice that they need to step down). SUPPLY ROOM / WORK ROOM
Do you have an extra room or two in your church or corporate building? Royal Family KIDS Camp & Mentoring is looking for a partner. We are a non-profit ministry operating under Renewal City Church and we serve children experiencing foster or kinship care.
New supply/work room requirements:
- Longview/Kelso area
- Approximately 1,000 sq ft. (we already have the heavy duty shelving!)
- Well-sealed against critters (we do store food items)
- Can be accessed weekdays, weeknights and weekends by our volunteers
PREFERENCES:
- In a location where a dozen different volunteers can each access when they need to work on their respective areas of camp (crafts; dress up; beauty parlor; tea party; birthday party; camper gifts; woodshop; sports games; kitchen supplies, etc.).
- All items need to be accessed throughout the year, so a rental storage unit isn’t ideal, when things are all jammed and piled into one space.
- We also hold work days and meetings throughout the year, so a room nearby with tables available to spread out on, bathrooms, etc. would be ideal.

The mission of For The Children is to transform our local community by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system. Too often these children, who have experienced family-induced trauma, find themselves on paths to academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, sex trafficking, homelessness, and incarceration.
At our Royal Family KIDS summer camps – and other programs throughout the year – dedicated to changing the trajectory of these young lives, we strive to plant seeds of hope, happiness, and wholeness. By helping to heal the scars of the past, we hope to aid these children in transforming into resilient adults with the ability to overcome challenges and be successful and healthy members of our community.
Our non-profit organization runs 100% on generous donations from compassionate donors and is 100% staffed by volunteers.
