Camp 2021

Day Camp 2021: We have received permission from the Kelso Office of the Department of Children, Youth & Families to hold a one-day in-town day camp this summer! We are so excited to be able to see our campers this year and will do everything we can to cram all of the events that usually make up the week of Royal Family KIDS Camp into a single day.

  • It will go all day long. Kids will be dropped off before breakfast and picked up after dinner.
  • We need volunteers! (More info below.)
  • We’ll also need coordinators to plan out the individual activity areas ASAP, starting now.
  • As usual, we will accept campers ages 6 through 12.
  • Find answers to ALL of your questions (and more!) in the introduction of our applications.
  • Deadline to apply is June 16. (The deadline has been extended. If the below links are still active, we do still have spots open.)

We have several opportunities to partner with us and as a 100% volunteer-run and donation-funded ministry, your support means everything to us! While we’re so grateful to Renewal City Church for hosting our ministry, the biggest blessing has been the fact that we’ve had 16 different churches represented by the volunteers who serve at our camp each year. We love seeing the Church come together to show God’s love to these special children in our community!

Saturday, July 24 ALL DAY in Longview, WA

  1. Advertise at your church – If you would be willing to help us spread the word about this event at your local church or within your organization, please contact us for a variety of advertisements (PowerPoint slides for your announcement slideshows, wording or images for your bulletins, a 1-minute video announcement to show at services or share any of these advertisements on your Facebook pages or email lists.  CONTACT: Jess McCloud (info in signature below)
  2. Volunteer Opportunities – One blessing to an in-town day camp is that it opens the door for folks to serve who may have been unable or hesitant to commit to a week-long sleepaway camp. We have so many ways to serve from making or providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks for our campers and volunteers, loading/unloading supplies in trailers, setting up tables, chairs and canopies, decorating, serving with our kids (or behind the scenes) at our day camp, or manning an activity station at camp (beauty parlor, dress up, bicycle riding, arts and crafts, games with coach, chapel lesson/activity, music, photographer, videographer, etc.)   CONTACT: Jess McCloud (info in signature below) or review our Volunteer Application. There is a really long introduction which should hopefully answer all of your questions!
  3. Carnival games – Some children in foster care have not had their birthday celebrated. So every summer, we have a Birthday Day at camp and this year will be no exception. Do you (or someone you know) have access to any of the below items? It would be even more of a blessing if you were able to bring them, set them up, man them for the birthday carnival (approximately 2PM-3:30PM on Sat, July 24), and tear down.   CONTACT: Julia Fielding  JuliaJared@gmail.com (763) 656-8271
  • dunk tank
  • bouncy houses/bouncy slides
  • carnival games (i.e. bean bag toss, ring toss, fishing games, etc.)
  • popup shade canopies
  • balloon artist/twister
  • helium
  • rectangular and/or round tables (lots of physical distancing requires lots of tables!)
  1. Food – Do you have a connection who may be willing to donate or sponsor the pizza for the Birthday Pizza Party dinner? Or would like to bake the birthday cupcakes? CONTACT: Julia Fielding  JuliaJared@gmail.com (763) 656-8271
  2. Pray – Your prayers for the hurting children in foster care, for their caregivers, for our volunteers who serve them, as well as a successful event, would be so appreciated.

As ever, we appreciate your prayers for the foster children in our community, and all children experiencing hardship. Please continue to pray for wisdom and divine guidance for our leadership.

For the Children,
Jess
